Weddings and Vow Renewals

I am available to members of my congregation at no charge for wedding ceremonies (and vow renewals), including same-sex couples. My schedule requires that I refer all other wedding requests to colleagues. I work with each couple to create a ceremony that is meaningful to them. Each ceremony is unique in mood, tone, and content, but always focuses on loving relationship. I frequently conduct secular, ecumenical, interfaith, and Christian ceremonies.

If you would like to discuss your wedding plans with me or need a referral, please email me at matt@revmatt.org or leave a private message for me at 832-978-7463.

Funerals and Memorial Services

I am available to to members of my congregation and their families for funerals and memorial services. Each service is unique based on the family's needs. My schedule requires that I refer other services to colleagues. I work closely with each family to create a meaningful service. Services always include and respect the religious beliefs and desires of the family and their deceased loved ones.

If you would like to discuss a funeral or memorial service with me or need a referral, please email me at matt@revmatt.org or leave a private message for me at 832-978-7463.

Couples and Pre-marital Counseling

I am available to members of my congregation for pastoral counseling for established and pre-marital couples, including same-sex couples. My schedule requires that I refer all non-member requests to colleagues. The focus is typically on determining and understanding strengths and areas for growth, communication, conflict resolution, values, and expectations within the relationship. We typically meet for six 1-hour sessions.

I am trained and certified by Life Innovations, Inc. to use the PREPARE-ENRICH counseling program. This is an excellent couples enrichment program for premarital, married, and cohabitating couples, including same-sex couples.

If you would like to schedule an initial meeting, please email me at matt@revmatt.org or leave a private message for me at 832-978-7463.

Anger Resolution Counseling

I am trained and certified by the Center for Anger Resolution, Inc. as a Certified Anger Resolution TherapistTM.

I am available to members of my congregation for individual anger resolution counseling. We meet for an initial assessment visit and determine from there how to proceed. Usually,  we would complete four additional sessions beyond the initial visit. The goal of this counseling is to control anger in relational situations.

If you would like to schedule an initial meeting, please email me at matt@revmatt.org or leave a private message for me at 832-978-7463.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®)

I am qualified to administer the MBTI® personality instrument. As part of this assessment, I will provide you with an extensive written interpretive report and up to two hours of in-person or phone consultation.

For more than 50 years, the MBTI® personality inventory has helped millions of individuals throughout the world gain a deeper understanding of themselves and how they interact with others. The MBTI assessment helps people transform themselves—by giving them a powerful tool for improving how they communicate, learn, and work.

Isabel Myers’ unique implementation of Carl Jung’s theory of psychological type, the MBTI® instrument, determines preferences on four dichotomies:

• EXTRAVERSION–INTROVERSION

• SENSING–INTUITION

• THINKING–FEELING

• JUDGING–PERCEIVING

The various combinations of these preferences result in 16 distinct personality types.

FORM M (Step I) includes 93 items and provides the basic MBTI four-letter type.

FORM Q (Step II) includes 144 items and provides the basic MBTI four-letter type and results on 20 facets of that type. It is the next step in personal and professional development using the MBTI assessment. Form Q drills down to a finer level of detail to explore personal variation within each type.

If you would like to take the MBTI® please email me at matt@revmatt.org or leave a private message for me at 832-978-7463.
